Action Alert: Arizona Game and Fish Commission Monthly Meeting
The Arizona Game and Fish Commission, the entity responsible for developing wildlife management policies for Arizona’s wildlife, meets monthly throughout the year.
Its next meeting is Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25, starting at 8 a.m. The meetings are held at the Arizona Game and Fish Department headquarters, 5000 W. Carefree Highway. You can also participate at any of the six regional office locations in Pinetop, Flagstaff, Kingman, Yuma, Tucson and Mesa through a video conference feed.
The Commission makes decisions that affect much of Arizona’s wildlife, and it is important that they hear from people who are concerned about the full complement of native wildlife, including carnivores such as the Mexican gray wolf and mountain lions.
Members of the public are given several opportunities throughout the meeting to speak. At the Friday portion of the meeting, the Commission may take action on a federal bill (HR 1819) that would delist Mexican gray wolves prematurely, a truly terrible idea.

If you can’t make the meeting, we encourage you to contact the Commission Members and let them know that Mexican wolves are important for healthy ecosystems. With less than 50 in the wild, they are the most endangered mammal in the North America.
