Video: Rep. Steve Pearce and the Environment
Here’s another look at New Mexico Rep. Steve Pearce’s deplorable environmental record. This 24-minute video contains two segments related to Mexican gray wolves. Another covers travel management in the Gila National Forest, part of the Mexican wolf recovery area.
Representative Pearce is supporting efforts to lessen protections for the struggling wild population of 50 Mexican gray wolves. Currently there are three bills with varying status in Congress that would remove endangered species protections from lobos, and with representatives like Pearce, there is a danger that an anti-Mexican wolf rider could be tacked onto a must-pass bill, as was done to strip Northern Rocky Mountain gray wolves of their Endangered Species Act protections recently.
