The Southwest Environmental Center Runs Full Page Ad Calling for Wolf Releases in New Mexico

Southwest Environmental Center (SWEC) has been running a full page ad in the Las Cruces Sun-News calling for direct releases of Mexican gray wolves into New Mexico. It’s basically their petition with 1500+ signers to Fish and Wildlife Service Director Benjamin Tuggle converted into an ad. It will run a total of six times.
The names of more than 1500 wolf supporters appeared in a paid SWEC full page ad in the Las Cruces Sun-News calling on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to release more endangered Mexican wolves into New Mexico before it is too late. Less than 60 wolves are in the wild, while more than 300 languish in captivity. Releasing more wolves into the wild is critical to boosting their numbers and avoiding the loss of genetic diversity. The ad first appeared on page A-11 on Thursday, 2/23.  A copy of the ad with last names A-P can be seen here. For the ad with last names H-Z go here.
This ad was not cheap—they are still raising money to pay for it. Please help Mexican wolves by making an online contribution today!
See The Southwest Environmental Center’s Action Page here.  You too can sign the petition to the US Fish and Wildlife Service at the bottom of this page.  There is also contact information for Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar, Congressional Representatives, and local newspapers, as well as talking points for letter writing.
