Albuquerque, NM — A coalition of organizations seeking to provide educational information concerning wolves in New Mexico will present The 2015 New Mexico Walk for Wolves Event taking place at Tiguex Park on Saturday, April 25th, 2015. The event will feature guest speakers, New Mexico wildlife organizations, and Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary ambassadors.

Alex Mirabal and Leilani Nonies, Founders of Albuquerque Environmental Action Coalition, are proud to bring 2015 Walk for Wolves, a national event, to New Mexico for its third year.  New Mexico Walk for Wolves will have numerous organizations teaming together to ensure all attendees receive enough information and entertaining experience to go home with a new understanding and appreciation for the creatures of this amazing state.  Coinciding with the 17th-Anniversary of the return of the Lobo, or Mexican Gray Wolf, back into the wild, Walk for Wolves seeks to celebrate the spirit that comes with such a feat.  In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to learn what they can do at home, at school, and through volunteer opportunities to help others become more educated.  Other environmental organizations will be in attendance.  This is a family-oriented event that offers interactive learning to the public.

The time for the event is 11am — 2pm.  Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary will have ambassadors on-site at 11am.  Elected officials and other speakers are asked to begin at 12pm.

This event is free of charge.  We seek only to provide the public with educational information regarding the importance of wolves and surrounding wildlife so that myths may be debunked and wolves/wolf-kin receive fair treatment in State and Federal legislation.

“The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi
