We’re hoping that when the fabulous band Los Lobos plays in Santa Fe at The Lensic Performing Arts Center on March 7, they’ll give a shout-out from the stage for the magnificent wild Mexican gray wolves with whom they share a name!
Some dedicated volunteers will be in the reception area before the concert to do outreach for Mexican wolves. Look for them if you go to the concert (or if you just want to help them raise awareness).
There are two ways you can help bring the plight of wild lobos to Los Lobos’ attention.
If you are going to the concert, you can request that they play their song, “Will the Wolf Survive?” The Los Lobos website has a feature that allows fans to request songs for the concerts they’re planning to attend. Just click here and then on the Request a Song link.
You can also go to their Facebook page, Like the band, and then post a request that they give a shout-out for critically endangered Mexican wolves at their southwest concerts.
This is all fun, but we do think Los Lobos could be great messengers for our wild lobos and hope that if we can get their attention, they will help the Mexican wolf survive.
Thanks for all you do!
