In the News: New pro soccer team Phoenix FC Wolves debuts name, logo

A new minor-league soccer franchise will start play in Phoenix next year, and the professional team has unveiled its name and logo.

The Phoenix Football Club will join the United Soccer Leagues’ Pro League (USL Pro) next year. Its mascot and logo will be a Mexican wolf, and the team also will be known as the Wolves.

Former Scottish soccer player David Robertson has been named to coach the Phoenix FC. “I am very excited and proud to lead Arizona’s newest professional sports team,” he said. “¦

Phoenix FC is also launching a website, PhoenixFC.com. “¦
