Update: Paseo del Lobo (Path of the Wolf) Relay Hike
Paseo hikers recently enjoyed the hospitality of the White Mountain Apache tribe, which welcomed wolves onto its 1.67-million-acre reservation in Arizona adjoining the national forest. Participants got to see traditional dance and costumes, ride horseback through beautiful scenery that included elk and butterflies, and eat delicious food prepared by their hosts.
Daniel Sayre, the Southwest Regional Director for National Wolfwatcher Coalition, was there, and shared his photos, some of which appear on this page, with us.
Many more photos from this wonderful experience on the Paseo del Lobo can be viewed on the Grand Canyon Wolf Recovery Project’s Facebook page.
The hike continues all summer and into early fall. You can still sign up to hike or bike a segment. Visit www.gcwolfrecovery.org for more information.
