Presentation: Arizona’s Native Wolves-Lobos of the Southwest

The Mexican gray wolf, also known as the lobo, is a critically endangered, native species that once numbered in the thousands of animals throughout the Southwest and Mexico. Seventeen years after reintroduction, only 109 lobos currently roam Arizona and New Mexico. The restoration of these wolves is an opportunity to bring a natural balance and fully functioning ecosystem back to the wild lands of the Southwest.

Join the Plateau Group of the Sierra Club Grand Canyon Chapter, along with Grand Canyon Wolf Recovery Project and Mexicanwolves.org Packtivists, to learn about Mexican gray wolves, and how you can help restore these beautiful, unique animals to their essential natural role.
