An informative talk, “Wolves, Fact and Fiction” by Nancy Bain (AKA The Wolf Lady) will be given at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, in the El Paso Museum of Archaeology Auditorium on Transmountain Road in El Paso.
Nancy Bain was the volunteer Wolf Exhibit Host at the El Paso Zoo for a number of years. In 2007 she was given the Initiative Award by the El Paso Zoo which honors the volunteer who has demonstrated exemplary efforts in furthering the goals of the El Paso Zoo program. She developed the Wolf Awareness Weekend and promoted Wolf Howl contests. Nancy belongs to and supports many Wolf Organizations and has attended a number of Wolf Seminars. Nancy Bain’s exhibit has been seen at Hueco Tanks, Chihuahua Desert Fiesta at Franklin Mountain State Park, Annual Poppy Festival, El Paso Zoo, Tech2O and others. She has exhibited and gives talks to scout troops and schools, especially at Career Day programs where she encourages children to help endangered species by working with animals through either zoos, veterinary hospitals, Game, Fish and Wildlife programs and other groups. Her interest is in the reintroduction and survival of the misunderstood Mexican Wolf and the preservation of all wolves world wide.
