WHAT: Silver City’s TrekWest Event & Reception will feature snacks and invited guest speakers from local conservation organizations and elected officials.  The highlight of the evening will be a presentation by Adventure Trekker John Davis, complemented with beautiful photos and personal stories, describing his conservation journey through the Sky Islands of northern Mexico, Arizona and New Mexico, and thoughts on his anticipated trek “Taking the Wildway Home” all the way to Canada.  Join us as we meet John Davis in person during his 5,000-mile human-powered journey to showcase the need for connectivity between the West’s last remaining wild places. John will describe the importance of working together to protect wildlife movement corridors linked across the continent, and highlight the details of how New Mexico’s wildlands are a critical part of a continental pathway for wildlife — the “Western Wildway.”

WHEN: Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

WHERE:
Western New Mexico University’s Global Resource Center Auditorium, corner of 12th and Kentucky Sts., on the WNMU campus in Silver City
